Customer Identification Program (CIP)

Due to federal regulations, all financial institutions including Higher One, are required to properly identify each of its account holders. Since Higher One provides our services online, the government requires Higher One to obtain this information in other ways.
Acceptable forms of photo identification are unexpired government-issued documents. Valid documents include:
  1. Driver's License
  2. Passport (showing the passport number and country of origin)
  3. State ID
  4. Military ID (Showing front and back of the card)
  5. Permanent Resident Alien Card
  6. Nonimmigrant Visa (F-1, F-2, F-3, B1, B2)
  7. Certificate of U.S. Naturalization
  8. Mexican Consular Card

For your convenience, we have created several ways for you to verify your identity.

To verify your identity...

You can get verified on campus at the Bursar's Office located in the Houchens Building. Take a valid form of identification and a member of the Bursar's Office staff will verify your documentation in person.

Send Your Documentation to Higher One Directly

To verify your identity please provide Higher One with an enlarged photocopy of a government-issued photo ID that displays the issuing agency, issue date (if applicable), expiration date, document identification number, date of birth, your name and your photo. Please download our easy CIP Processing Form and follow the instructions to send this information to Higher One in one of the following ways:

  • Fax it to 1-866-753-9180.
  • Place your photocopy in an envelope and mail your ID documentation to:

  • You can also drop off an envelope at the communication box on campus located by the Bursar's Office.
